19 November 2009: The first preparations for the Symposium celebrating 50 years of the PS are now visible in the main building. The floor markings will be used to recreate CERN's accelerator network as part of the exhibitions that will be installed for the 3rd - 4th December event. 19 November 2009: Yesterday the LHC was handed over for operation. After a couple of days of machine check-out, the operations team will be able to prepare for injection and then bring the first circulating beams in to the LHC.

The CERN film making club is organizing the second edition of the CinéGlobe Short Film Festival in February 2010 and everyone is invited to go to the selection screenings, which are held in the CERN Council Chamber. Dates and details are available on the Club web site. Bring a pen – voting sheets will be provided. The organizers need your feedback on the films!
